For this modest bungalow at Jalan Kembangan, the design personalised a dwelling to become a multi-generational home.  

Functional & practical in layout, the design is versatile to suit changing lifestyle & needs. Abundant light fills every space in the house. Against the URA authority restrictions of 50% site coverage, the design optimises the plot.  

Unique characteristics & qualities of the site play a key role in shaping the architectural design.  

Conceived as a composition of 2 boxes. An open-outer box ‘shield’ the house from adjacent MRT station, and opens to an adjacent green field. An inner concrete box contains the private functions of the abode.  

The ‘gaps’ in-between boxes, becomes sheltered balconies suited for the tropics, for one to enjoy the green views beyond.  

Through nuanced observations in reading a place, we design a new identity for each home, without being identical.
